I don’t talk about exercise very often here on the blog, but it is essential for our physical and mental/emotional health.


Two years ago, I shared about an unexpected wake up call that forced be back into a regular fitness routine, and I’m glad to report that I’ve been fairly consistent with working out since that time. But, amid blogging, homeschooling, laundry, and errands, exercise looks nothing like it did years ago in my super fit, gym rat stage of life…and that’s okay.


Free online workout videos are one of my favorite high efficiency ways to get a quick workout in on busy days, even with kids sleeping or playing in the next room (though mine often rush in to join me*).


*Note: I’m pretty cautious about discussing calorie burning and weight loss in front of my young children who are still forming what they believe about health and their bodies. These videos are definitely better than others in that respect, but I do occasionally turn the volume down and explain my own health-related reasons for exercising to open a positive, healthy dialogue.
